According to Marca, Real Madrid are strongly interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Marquinhos.
 
Los Blancos are looking for a possible replacement of Pepe, 32, who is entering the latter stages of his career. Also, just three recognised centre-backs at the Bernabeu in the likes of Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane and Pepe.

It is understood Manchester United have been strongly linked with Marquinhos, 21, with a recent report claiming that the Premier League club were preparing to launch a bid in the region of £15m before Monday's transfer deadline.

The Brazilian centre-back has found playing time hard to come by with David Luiz and Thiago Silva preferred favorites.
