Manchester City announced on Monday that Guardiola will take over as manager on a three-year contract starting next season.

The deal is said to be worth a whooping £45million, which will comfortably make Guardiola the highest-paid manager in the Premier League.

Guardiola has made no secret of the fact that he wants to work in the Premier League. Having enjoyed such incredible success in Spain and Germany he sees England as the third of the big three European leagues he wants to conquer before moving into international management or, possibly, retiring early.

It is believed that Barcelona Lionel Messi will follow suite. How possible is that? Only time will tell.
