Manchester city Vincent Kompany was caught up in a plane scare before returning to Manchester from Norwich on Saturday according to dailymail.
The Belgium was unhurt after the private aircraft veered off a runway as it was lifting off to head north.
Kompany, out with an injured calf, had been in East Anglia to watch Manuel Pellegrini's side progress in the FA Cup, beating Norwich 3-0.
His plane left the runway before coming to a standstill before take off. It is said the player's representative and three others were on board, with nobody hurt.
Norwich International Airport was closed for four hours while the aircraft was removed, while it delayed City's arrival back in the north west.
Phil Brockwell, of Centreline Air, was at a loss as to the problem.
'It was at a fairly low speed of its departure at which point it veered off the runway, for reasons which we have some guesses,' he said.
An airport statement read: 'The Airport remained open to helicopter traffic,' it said in a statement. 'The Air Accident Investigation Branch has been informed, which is standard practice.'
