According to reports in Spain, Arsenal are set to miss out on Nolito as the Celta Vigo forward closes in on a move to Barcelona.

The 29-year-old has been in fine form this season and has found the net eight times in La Liga.

The Spaniard's performances had sparked interest from Arsenal and Barcelona, with both clubs scouting the player.

But, according to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have now won the race for Nolito's signature.

The Spanish champions have triggered the former Benfica man's release-clause, which is believed to be around £13m.

Arsenal were keen on bringing Nolito to London, but the player was reportedly always in favour of moving to the Nou Camp.

The Spain international spent three years at Barcelona from 2008 to 2011 and is hungry to return.
